Summer Refreshments

உங்கள் தாகத்தை அடக்க சில ஜூஸ் வகைகள் :)
வெறும் தாகத்தை மற்றும் இல்லை, நீங்கள் அசதி யாக இருக்கும் போதும் கூட இதை தயாரித்து குடித்து பாருங்கள் :)
Here are some of the varities of Juices, Squashes.
There are some juices which helps in digestion too.... Almost all are healthy juices.
Try out the below juices and let us know how it is :)



Mango Squash

Ingredients:
Mango juice – 2 ½ cups
Water – 2 ½ cups
Sugar – 5 cups
Mango essence – 1 ½ tsp
Yellow food color – ¼ tsp
Citric acid – 1 tbsp
Potassium Meta Bi-Sulphate (KMS) – ¼ tsp

Method:
Boil water and add sugar to it.
Once the sugar is dissolved completely and when it starts boiling, add citric acid, and KMS.
Then remove off from fire and cool them completely.
Then add the mango juice, essence, food color, and mix them well.
Then strain it once and preserve it in bottles and you can either refrigerate or stays without refrigerating tooJ.


Orange squash
Ingredients:
Orange juice – 4 ½ cups
Water – 4 ½ cups
Sugar – 2 kg
Orange essence – ¼ tsp
Citric acid – 2 tbsp
KMS powder – ¼ tsp
Method:
Dissolve sugar in water and boil it for sometime.
When it starts boiling, add citric acid, remove from the gas after sometime.
Then cool them completely, add KMS powder and strain it.
Then add the juice, essence and mix them well and preserve in bottles.



Lime Squash
Ingredients:
Lime juice – water – each 4 ½ cups
Sugar – 2 kilo
Lemon essence – ½ tsp
Yellow color – ¼ tsp
KMS powder – ¼ tsp
Citric acid – ¼ tsp

Dissolve sugar in water and boil it for sometime.
When it starts boiling, add citric acid, remove from the gas after sometime.
Then cool them completely, add KMS powder and strain it.
Then add the juice, essence and color and mix them well and preserve in bottles.



Pineapple squash

Ingredients
Pineapple juice – 4 ½ cups
Water – 4 ½ cups
Sugar – 8 cups
Pineapple essence – ½ tsp
Yellow color – ¼ tsp
Citric acid – 2 tbsp
KMS powder – ¼ tsp

Dissolve sugar in water and boil it for sometime.
When it starts boiling, add citric acid, remove from the gas after sometime.
Then cool them completely, add KMS powder and strain it.
Then add the juice, essence, color and mix them well and preserve in bottles.


Grapes Squash

Ingredients:
Grapes pulp or juice – 4 ½ cups
Water – 4 ½ cups
Sugar – 10 cups
Grape essence – ½ tsp
Food color – ¼ tsp
Citric acid – 1 ½ tbsp
Sodium benzoate – ¼ tsp

Boil water and add sugar to it.
After the sugar is dissolved completely, add citric acid and remove from fire after few mins say for example if it looks like syrup consistency.
Cool them completely.
Then add the juice, essence and color and sodium benzoate and mix them well and strain it and preserve it in bottles.


Tomato Masala Juice

Ingredients:
Mixed herbs powder (available in stores) – ½ tsp
(Or)
Bay leaves, cloves, cardamom, dry basil leaves, cumin seeds, Om seeds – dry grind altogether

Tomato – 8
Sugar – ¾ cup

Grind tomato and sugar together in a mixer and strain them well.
Then add the herbs powder and mix them well and serve chilled
J.



Grape mint juice
Ingredients:
Seedless black grapes – 2 cups
Orange (peeled and without the seeds) – 2
Sugar – as per taste
Pudina leaves or mint leaves – 10 leaves

Grind grapes and oranges together in a mixer and strain them well and add the pudina leaves when serving.
Tastes good when chilledJ.



Coconut juice
Tender coconut water – 2 cups
Tender coconut – ¼ cup
Orange or pineapple squash – 2 tbsp
Pineapple or orange pieces – 1 cup
Lime juice – 1 tsp

Grind or whip it once the tender coconut water and tender coconut in a mixer.
Then add the squash, and lime juice and mix them well.
Serve chilled with pineapple pieces or orange pieces and along with ice cubes.




Soda Lemonade

Ingredients:
Soda – 2 cups
Orange pieces – 10 (grind it along with little water and strain them)
Pineapple – 1 cup(grated and strained)
Lime juice – ¼ cup
Sugar – 1 cup

Mix altogether except soda well and add soda while serving.
Serve chilled for better and good taste.



Mango – Ginger Juice

Ingredients:
Mango pulp – 1 cup
Ginger juice – 2 tbsp
Sugar – ¼ cup
Soda – ½ cup

Method:

Mix altogether except soda well and add soda while serving.
Serve chilled for better and good taste.




Guava Juice
Ingredients:
Ripe guava fruit pieces – 2 cups
Lime juice – ¼ cup
Soda – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup

Method:
Grind guava fruit along with sugar and strain them.
Then add lime juice to it and add soda before serving.
Tastes good when chilledJ.






Digestive juice
Ingredients:
Sugar – 1 cup
Water – 1 cup
Fried and dry cumin powder – 1 tsp
Common salt – ½ tsp
Dry ginger powder – 1 tsp
Asafoetida – ¼ tsp
Tamarind water – ½ cup

Method:

Mix altogether and boil it for 3 minutes.
Then cool them completely and serve in a tall glass.
It can be served either as an appetizer or a refreshing during evenings or night times or whenever you are feeling tired.






Ginger Soda

Ingredients:
Pudina leaves or Mint leaves – ¼ cup
Ginger – 1 piece
Grind the above in a mixer and make it into a paste.
Sugar – 5 tsp
Lemon – ½
Chat masala – ¼ tsp
Soda – as per servings

Method:
Mix well altogether and serve chilled in a tall glass along with ice cubes tooJ.



Small onion Spicy juice

Ingredients:
Finely chopped Lemon pieces – ¼ cup
Ginger – 1 piece
Green chillies – 1
Small onions – 4 to 6
Sugar – 5 tbsp
Salt – ¼ tsp
Curry leaves – few
Water – 1 litre

Method:
Grind altogether in a mixer and add water to it and is ready to serve.
This is an energy drink.





Cucumber – Beetroot Juice

Ingredients:
Grated cucumber – 1 cup
Grated beetroot – ½ cup
Lime juice – ¼ cup
Sugar – ¼ cup
Soda – as per servings

Method:
Grind both the cucumber and beetroot together in a mixer and strain it.
Add lime juice to it and mix them well.
Then add sugar to it and serve soda while serving.






Tender – coconut Milkmaid Drink

Ingredients:
Tender coconut water – 1 cup
Tender coconut – ¼ cup
Milkmaid/condensed milk – little

Method:
Grind all of the above in a mixer and serve chilledJ.





Barley – Honey Juice

Ingredients:
Barley – 1 cup
Tender coconut water – 1 cup
Honey – ¼ cup

Method:
Cook barley in 2 cups of water.
Once the barley is cooked properly, remove only top water and keep aside and cool it completely.
Then add the tender coconut water and honey and serve chilled.





Spicy Guava Juice

Ingredients:
Guava fruit – 2
Coriander leaves – ½ cup
Green chillies – 2
Salt to taste

Method:

Grind fruit, green chillies, coriander leaves and salt altogether in a mixer along with little water and strain them and serve chilled.





Banana – Sapota Juice

Ingredients:
Lime juice – ¼ cup
Deseeded Sapota pulp – 2
Ripe banana pieces – 1
Pineapple juice – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Method:
Grind Sapota and banana together in a mixer.
To this, add pineapple juice, lime juice and sugar and required water and mix them well.
Serve chilled.
